A Refund Method is the mode by which money is credited to customers returning/exchanging merchandise. Refund methods can be configured per your return policy.
Check out our setup guide on refund methods.
Return Rabbit currently offers two Refund Methods.
-
Original Payment Method: Refunds processed usually within 7 days after the return is received.
-
Gift Card/Store Credit: The fastest option for customers. Refunds added immediately to your account. This option is available to both Shopify and Shopify plus users.
Navigate to Configure > Return Management > Refund Methods
Once, there, you can turn a refund method on or off by using the toggle.
You can make a refund method default by turning the default toggle off or on by clicking on the edit icon on the refund method. The default refund method will be pre-selected for the customer in the shopper portal.
You can edit Refund Methods by clicking the edit button on the card, which will take you to the refund methodβs configuration page:
The following selections are editable in the refund methods:
-
Label: This is the text that will appear in the shopper portal, describing this refund method to your customer. You can change it to fit with your brand voice.
-
Window: This can be the same as the Global service window, or you can create a custom window specifically for this payment method.
-
Payment Processing Fee (for Original Payment Method only): Set the fee that can be charged to customers who are returning their products and wish to receive the refund back to their source of payment. The amount you mention here will be charged once per request.
-
Apply Incentive (for Gift Card only): This option incentivizes returns if the customers use Gift Card as their refund method. Once the Apply Incentive toggle is turned on, you can select the incentive type, such as a percentage or a fixed incentive.
-
Fixed Incentive: If this incentive method is used, a fixed amount will be refunded on top of the refund amount on the returns.
-
Percentage Incentive: If this incentive method is used, a percentage of the refund total, depending on the return (which is customizable), will be refunded on top of the refund amount.
