Exchange Recommendations- The rules that help you configure what products to recommend to your shoppers when they are choosing whether they want to return or exchange their products.
The products that are shown to the shoppers based on these rules will help nudge your shoppers towards exchanging rather than returning.
This is the first version of our Rabbit in the hat recommendation system. We'll keep adding more rules based on the client's feedback.
In this release, you can choose to recommend specific products or you can define a rule with collections.
The exchange recommendation sets can be aligned with request reasons, so if you utilize different request reasons for different products, you can create product-specific recommendations.
To set up an exchange recommendation, navigate to :
Configure > Return Management >Exchanged > Exchange Recommendation
There, you will see a table of recommendation sets already created. If there are none, we will change that in a minute.
To create a new recommendation set, click on Add Recommendation Set
You will be taken to a new page, where you will configure different parts of your recommendation set.
Recommendation set name:
This name will be used to refer to the recommendation set throughout the merchant portal.
Recommendation Rules:
The recommendation rule is the rule that you choose to apply to the 5 recommended spaces on the shopper portal. You can choose either one rule that will apply to all 5 product spaces, or you can choose different rules for different spaces. You can choose from the following rules:
- Custom rules: Custom rules let you select 5 (or fewer) rules for each of the corresponding product spaces.
- Best selling products from a selected product type: This shows the 5 best selling products in the product type of your choice.
- Best selling product across the entire store: This shows the 5 best selling products across the entire store.
- Best selling product from a selected collection: This shows the best-selling products from a given collection.
- Best selling products that are newly added: This shows the 5 best selling products that were newly added.
- Least returned products: This shows the least returned products across the entire store.
- Dynamic AI Recommendations: This is a part of the Return Rabbit AI recommendation system. Based on the product selected by the shopper, the AI recommends the 5 products that are the most purchased products with the selected products, i.e. products most likely to go with a selected product.
This can also be set to show out of stock products by toggling this option on
All the rules are based off data of the past 3 months.
Setting up custom rules:
Once you have selected custom rules in the dropdown, you will see a box with a + sign on it. This represents your first recommendation space.
Click on the + and it will take you to a new modal, where you can set the rule for space #1.
From the drop-down, select a product or a collection that you want to appear in this space.
For product:
Select a product from your catalog.
For collection:
Select a product from the dropdown.
You can then repeat this process for the other 4 spaces and configure the spaces.
Setting up one recommendation rule:
Select the rule you want to apply from the drop down.
Select if you want to show out of stock products.
Request reasons:
Each of your exchange recommendations are aligned to one or more request reasons. So, the next task is to align those two things. You can select the request reasons from a drop-down. You can select multiple request reasons as well.
If you don't have catalog exchange on in a selected request reason, and you attach an activated recommendation set to that reason, that reason will allow exchange with only those 5 items.
Activate:
You can choose to create a recommendation set and don't have it activated. The meaning of a recommendation set being active and attached to at least one request reason is that it will be visible to the shoppers. Once you have activated the recommendation set, your shoppers can see it for any request reasons you attached it to.
